High-Impact Weekend for CrowdStrike at Long Beach

  • Two CrowdStrike Racing Audis raced at historic Long Beach street circuit

LONG BEACH, Calif. (April 17, 2019) – CrowdStrike took to the streets of Long Beach this weekend and was rewarded with a solid result for its two Audi R8 LMS GT4 race cars in the Pirelli GT4 America Streets of Long Beach presented by AWS event Sunday.

James Sofronas scored a fifth-place Pro category finish – sixth overall – in his No. 14 CrowdStrike/AWS/Accel Audi from Global Motorsports Group (GMG Racing). Sunday’s 50-minute race also saw C.J. Moses take a top-ten in class in just his second-ever GT4 event.

Driving the No. 04 CrowdStrike/AWS/Accel/GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS GT4, Moses finished two spots higher than where he started. Doing so was not easy around Long Beach, one of racing’s most iconic and challenging layouts. That made the drives of both Moses and Sofronas more impressive. Like his GMG teammate, Sofronas did a masterful job carving his way through the concrete canyons to pick up three spots from his starting position by the end of the race.

Sunday’s event capped off a high-profile weekend for CrowdStrike, the Official Internet and Cloud Security Provider for the SRO America Championships along with sponsor and partner, AWS, which presented the Pirelli GT4 Americas race weekend.

CrowdStrike hosted its third CXO Summit meeting of the season. George Kurtz, CrowdStrike co-founder and CEO, CrowdStrike COO, Colin Black, and guest presenter Richard Rushing, CISO of Motorola Mobility, discussed emerging trends and issues in the cybersecurity industry with their peers in an executive learning environment.

At the track, guests enjoyed rooftop hospitality with stunning views of the race circuit, took hot-lap opportunities around the Long Beach track, and joined Q&A sessions from Long Beach and IndyCar legend Mario Andretti. They also met young IndyCar star Colton Herta, who raced his Honda IndyCar with CrowdStrike sponsorship in Sunday’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, Harding Steinbrenner Racing team co-owner George Michael Steinbrenner IV, and Indianapolis 500 winner Al Unser, Jr.

The Pirelli GT4 America championship returns to action April 26-28 at Virginia International Raceway. Both George Kurtz and C.J. Moses will race in the Blancpain GT World Challenge America and Pirelli GT4 Americas series, respectively. For more information, visit
