ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (Feb. 16, 2024) – CrowdStrike Racing by Algarve Pro Racing (APR) completed another chapter in an already successful season by winning the Asian Le Mans Series LMP2 Championship in Abu Dhabi.

The driving trio of George Kurtz, Colin Braun and Malthe Jakobsen won Saturday’s four-hour race in the No. 4 CrowdStrike ORECA 07-Gibson prototype to start the season-ending, doubleheader weekend. They added a top-five finish in Sunday’s finale to the LMP2 title in their first season together as part of the Asian Le Mans championship.

Over the past year, the CrowdStrike Racing and APR partnership has emerged as one of the most impactful teams in sports car racing, earning numerous championships, including:

  • Winners of the LMP2 Pro-Am class at the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans (Kurtz, Braun, James Allen in an APR entry)

  • Champions of the 2023 IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup in LMP2, (Kurtz, Braun, Nolan Siegel)

In addition, Kurtz claimed the Jim Trueman Award at the close of the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, recognizing him as the top gentleman driver in LMP2.

In addition to the first Abu Dhabi round, the No. 4 CrowdStrike ORECA won at Malaysia during the season’s opening weekend and placed third at Dubai earlier this month.

CrowdStrike Racing by APR will look to add another highlight to its season when the team races in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in the WeatherTech Championship on Saturday, March 16 at Sebring (Florida) International Raceway.

CrowdStrike Racing by APR Asian Le Mans Series Driver Quotes

George Kurtz: “It feels fantastic to win the 2023-24 Asian Le Mans Series. All credit to the CrowdStrike Racing by APR team, Colin (Braun) and Malthe (Jakobsen). There were so many ups and downs and to get the job done in the way we did, overcoming a lot of adversity, speaks volumes. 'Never give up' is the line of the week because we were in some precarious positions, we managed to work through them and come away with a race win and championships.”

Colin Braun: “I’m super-pumped to have won the 2023-24 Asian Le Mans Series. It’s huge for CrowdStrike Racing by APR and I’m really proud of everyone’s efforts throughout this campaign. All of the tracks were new to me and George (Kurtz) and there was a lot to take in, but we all did a great job, we never gave up during the uncertain times, there was some great work in the pits and the team put all the pieces of the puzzle together to win the big prize.”

Malthe Jakobsen: “I’m super happy to have been part of CrowdStrike Racing by APR. It has been fun, we’ve had some good races together, and we did the best we could as a team to win the 2023-24 Asian Le Mans Series. It was tougher than expected at times, but we stayed clean and won the championship. That’s what’s most important.”
