CJ began racing in the Sports Car Club of America’s Regional club racing series in 2005 and quickly graduated to SCCA Nationals in 2007, racing touring cars. In his second season, CJ became the 2008 Divisional Champion. In 2010 and 2011, he took a short hiatus from driving and was the crew chief for the back-to-back SCCA National Championship Touring 2 team. CJ then went back to driving and his winning ways, claiming the 2012 and 2013 Divisional Championships and Driver of the Year Award.
CJ took the next step in 2014 and began competing in the SCCA Majors Series and successfully campaigned in the series with multiple wins and many podium finishes.
In 2019, CJ joined the CrowdStrike Racing Team, running select SRO GT4 America races resulting in several podium finishes. In 2020, CJ continued with CrowdStrike Racing, sporting a Honda Civic Type R TCR in the SRO TC America series, earning more podiums and a pole position at the Indy 8 Hour. In 2021, CJ moved to the new GT America single-driver sprint series in a CrowdStrike/AWS/DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 in seven races during the series’ inaugural season. He posted a pair of top-five finishes with his best finish of fourth at Virginia International Raceway. In 2022, CJ competed in SRO GT America GT2 and won the GT2 Championship with eight wins in the season. In 2023, CJ continues in GT America with the No. 58 CrowdStrike/AWS Audi Sport R8 LMS GT2 with support from GMG Racing.
CJ is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and VP of Security Engineering for Amazon Web Services (AWS), the Cloud and Machine Learning Provider for the SRO GT World Challenge Powered by AWS Series. AWS is a $80 Billion revenue run rate company, growing at 28% year over year, that has millions of customers including CrowdStrike, Formula 1, all in the cloud customers like Capital One, Netflix, and SRO GT World Challenge, as well as 4,000 public sector customers worldwide. Prior to joining AWS in 2007, CJ had an extensive career within the US Federal Government, most recently with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and prior to that as an US Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) Special Agent, where he served as the lead case agent on pioneering computer intrusion investigations, building the foundation for the current cybersecurity industry.
