NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 12, 2022) – CrowdStrike and CrowdStrike Racing played significant roles this past weekend at the high-profile, vibrant Big Machine Music City Grand Prix in Nashville, Tenn.

The races came a week after a successful event at the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa Protected by CrowdStrike. As the Official Internet and Cloud Security Provider of SRO Motorsports, CrowdStrike brings both first-class activation and hospitality to SRO events in North America and Europe, as well as top-level competitors through the CrowdStrike Racing program.

George Kurtz, co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of CrowdStrike, represented the brand in a pair of 40-minute races in the GT America Powered by AWS series. The championship leader heading into the weekend, Kurtz placed fourth in both rounds of the doubleheader in the No. 04 CrowdStrike/AWS Mercedes-AMG from CrowdStrike Racing by Riley Motorsports.

Kurtz began both races in sixth position and safely progressed up the order in each round. The challenging nature of street circuits puts a premium on safe driving, and that was Kurtz’s approach to maintain his championship lead, which he built with five wins in 10 races.

“I’m happy to leave Nashville with our solid results and valuable points toward the championship,” Kurtz said. “Street racing is a big challenge and this track is particularly difficult. We’ll take our points lead to the last three events and hopefully get back on the podium at Road America. We put on a good show for the fans in Nashville and our CrowdStrike supporters and VIPs. I had a great time and I hope they did as well.”

Off the track, CrowdStrike and AWS hosted the latest in its series of CXO Summits for executive guests. At select SRO races,  thought leaders from CrowdStrike and AWS meet with VIPs to talk about trending issues and topics in the cybersecurity industry.

In Nashville, Shawn Henry, president of CrowdStrike Services and chief security officer (CSO), and Angelo Comazzetto, principal in the Office of the chief information security officer (OCISO) at AWS, led the roundtable for select number  of chief information security officers (CISOs). There was also an expanded session for those in the healthcare industry exploring best practices with Drex DeFord, executive Healthcare Strategist for CrowdStrike.

“Over the past five years, CrowdStrike’s CXO Summits have brought together the best and brightest to raise the bar on cybersecurity strategy,” Henry said. “Those who are leading the way in the C-Suite and making the biggest impact in keeping their own companies safe continue to gather with CrowdStrike and AWS to share best practices with their peers. These meetings, held during race weekends, have proven time and time again to be a winning combination for executives motivated to be the most effective leaders.

The meetings were just one part of an event-filled weekend. On top of the entertainment and concerts surrounding the Nashville event as a whole, approximately 50 guests from CrowdStrike and AWS experienced a full weekend with hospitality and access in a suite overlooking the Nashville circuit’s finish line. Two VIP guests of CrowdStrike/AWS also were selected to give the command to start engines in the two GT America rounds.

CrowdStrike Racing’s next event takes place at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisc., from August 19-21.
