CrowdStrike Earns Major Sponsorship Role at Velocity Invitational Automotive, Experiential Event

CrowdStrike Racing | October 13, 2022

AUSTIN, Texas  (Oct. 13, 2022) – CrowdStrike is expanding its footprint in motorsports with a multi-faceted sponsorship program for this year’s Velocity Invitational – one of North America’s leading motorsports and luxury lifestyle festivals.

Starting with this year’s event at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Oct. 14-16, CrowdStrike will proudly take on a number of key roles, including:

  • Official Partner of Velocity Invitational
  • Official Technology Partner of Velocity Invitational
  • Official Exclusive Cybersecurity Partner of Velocity Invitational

CrowdStrike continues to be a leading sponsor in motorsports, serving as Official Internet and Cloud Security Provider of SRO Motorsports America, an Official Partner of IMSA, plus as a Global Partner of the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team. In addition, CrowdStrike will be the title sponsor next year of the famed 24 Hours of Spa – part of SRO Motorsports’ Intercontinental GT Challenge.

“CrowdStrike has a proud history of both participating in and sponsoring some of the premier race events in the world. We’re incredibly excited to extend our involvement to Velocity Invitational, widely recognized as one of the best festivals in motorsports,” said Michael Sentonas, chief technology officer (CTO), CrowdStrike. “The fundamentals of what it takes to win a race – speed, teamwork, collaboration – mirror the core fundamentals of cybersecurity. By enhancing our partnerships with premier events like Velocity Invitational, we’re able to provide truly unique and exciting experiences for our customers and partners.”

CrowdStrike Brings the Culture of Racing and Cybersecurity to Customers and Partners

Through this partnership, CrowdStrike continues to bring the culture of racing and cybersecurity closer together. The Velocity Invitational is a vintage motorsport festival and more, providing an opportunity for some of auto racing’s most famous marques and models to compete on-track. The guest experience is one of the most immersive in motorsports. Fans can get up close and experience what makes these historic race cars special, while enjoying a true festival experience that includes premium food and drink, displays of new technology and art exhibits.

CrowdStrike will use partnerships like this to create unique and engaging opportunities for customers and partners. For its return to Laguna Seca, CrowdStrike will play host to one of its ground-breaking CXO summits for a group of nearly 40 participants at the Velocity Invitational. A collaborative partnership between CrowdStrike and AWS (Amazon Web Services), CXO summits provide a forum for CrowdStrike and AWS executives to meet with security decision-makers and participate in exchanges about key cybersecurity and cloud protection topics.

The list of presenters for the networking events include some of the highest-ranking members of both firms as well as additional speakers. Mike Sentonas will co-host the private CXO Summit with AWS’s Angelo Comazzetto, Principal in the Office of the CISO. CJ Moses, CISO of AWS and CrowdStrike Racing driver, will also take part in the weekend’s festivities and networking events, as will CrowdStrike Racing pro driver Colin Braun.

In addition, CrowdStrike VIP guests will enjoy opportunities for hot laps around historic WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, waving the green flag for select races at the Velocity Invitational and engage in a number of meet-and-greets with various race teams as well as networking with other business leaders from the Silicon Valley.

CrowdStrike also will host several hundred employees during the weekend, as well.

The latest sponsorship continues CrowdStrike’s deep history and culture of racing and activation on the Monterey Peninsula. The company’s first home base was in nearby Silicon Valley, and the CrowdStrike Racing program competed at Laguna Seca for many years as part of various racing series such as SRO Motorsports America and the Intercontinental GT Challenge.
